Novembers '07 Sweat Lodge
We had an exciting week-end. up here at Pacha Mama's Grove a retreat center for laughter, love and healing. We had a wonderful group this week-end attending our sweat lodge event that was facilitated by Kevin Norton. As we completed our sweat lodge at Pacha Mama's Grove high upon Palomar Mountain here in Southern California, Vicki confessed that she cheated once again and went snorkeling which means she slid her hands out underneath the blankets for some cool fresh air as she found herself a little on the hot side. I will never tell her that she wasn't the only one "cheating". ![]()
The sweat lodge which is a native American purification ceremony is frequently held at Pacha Mama's Grove. The weekends participant's walked away with a sense of peace and connectedness as we all shared in this healing ritual.

After the closing ceremony, there were a few of us who found themselves completely entertained as the CNF, the Cleveland National Forest service, who stopped by in their BIG green forest fire truck to see how we were faring and to douse all remaining spot fires.
They put out many spot fires still found here on Pacha Mama's Grove and to add more excitement to our day they called in the helicopter to do an over head drop. While waiting on the copper and exchanging conversavtion with the forestry guys about the history of the property also known as the Nate Harrison Ranch we soon learned a new bit of information. In the early 1900's Nate Harrison would sell trees to the vistors of the mountain so they could tie them to the back of their vehicle to enhance their braking system as they ventured down the mountain.
As you can see it was quite entertaining and also comforting to know that we are still being watched over by our local fire dept and of course the wonderful spirit of Nate Harrison.

he he he, "snorkeling" seems to be quite a popular activity in sweat lodges nowadays
selling trees...hmm...what a smart guy. One time when coming down from PMG I was running out of gas and decided to switch off the engine...After a while I wished I had a tree, or even a few tied down to my car !
Oh, and Susie, thanks for the suggestion to also switch off the headlights next time I'll be coming down while dark. I am sure it will greatly add to the experience
